There are moments in life when everything feels uncertain—when the world shifts, our routines unravel, and we’re left wondering what difference we could possibly make in the midst of it all. It’s in those very moments that God often whispers a truth we forget: You were created on purpose, for a purpose—right now, right here.
The story of Esther speaks directly to that truth. A young Jewish woman, orphaned and raised by her cousin, finds herself unexpectedly thrust into royalty in a foreign kingdom. Her path to the throne isn’t glamorous—it’s complicated, dangerous, and filled with divine positioning.
When the Jewish people are threatened with annihilation, Esther’s first instinct is fear. Who is she to make a difference? But her cousin Mordecai delivers a wake-up call that reverberates through time:
“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
- Esther 4:14 (NIV)
That one question reframes everything. It’s not about title, timing, or talent—it’s about trust. Trusting that God has positioned you precisely where you are, even if the placement feels imperfect. It’s about recognizing that purpose rarely arrives in comfort zones.
You may not wear a crown or sit in a palace, but you do carry influence—at home, in your workplace, through your voice, and with your choices. Such a time as this isn’t just about Esther. It’s about every woman, every believer, every person who dares to rise up and say, “Yes, Lord. Use me.”
So today, when the world feels too heavy or your assignment feels too big, remember this: You are not here by accident. You were born with purpose. And you were placed for such a time as this.
